How to ski powder, steeps, off piste, blues, blacks, greens and bumps … use the same basic skills of ski release, steering, manage friction, controlled upper body – just change the duration, intensity, rate and timing of the moves. Oh … sounds so simple. Great day.

Tele day – do I ever love tele days. Goals: bumps and inside foot pressure. Bumps on Dukes and Crescendo, some off piste Pica and White Crown, some cruise on North Star. Thanks to all for coming to tele Saturday. Keep up the challenge – side slips on the uphill tele foot – that should keep us all busy for a few years.

Frank, Andrew, Areana: Trees, trees, trees … and a few bumps to keep the excitement. As always when we get together – another great day. Andrew – flex/extend to maintain the pressure. Areana: flex the ankles will bring you forward. Frank – initiate ‘through the door’. Thank you for the good times.

Big class, thanks to all for patience. Level 4, lots of wedge type stuff in the morning – lots of parallel type stuff in the afternoon. Keep up the good work on picking a focus for each run, stay with it, review with yourself at the bottom. It’s ok to make a few turns you don’t like, everyone does – the ones that you know are right (nice shape, clean release, both skis staying matched), take those as victories. Cheers.

Francis & Nat: Tremendous progress with the parallel turns. Second day on skis and coming down Springmeier and Four O’clock – both with a blue section. Keep up the good work with committing to the turn, shaping, skidding, letting both feet be active players, staying off the edges as much as possible. Thx for a great day.

Goals: More centered and balanced, technique/control, bumps. And so, we did bumps, lots of them. Some drills (a few easy ones a few hard ones), Dukes, Little Johnnys, High A, Tbar, chari 6. Video: what did you like – what would you like to change. Afternoon focus: wider stance, no crunching at turn finish, leg steering. Lots of sun and fun – thx guys.

Technique 7 group. More comfort with speed, more comfort with steeps, better use of edges. How to keep the upper body quiet and turn skis below, how to use friction as a friend, tic..tock rhythm, eliminate the ‘flat spot’. And for you Shelly … pivot slips.
