Jim, Julia, Christina – Connecticut – dad on a ski vacation with the girls. Jim: speed control with direction of turns, both feet working, come off the edges, use tipping to flatten the skis,

skidding and shaping, multiple laps on chair 7. Julia & Christina: no poles, hockey stops, trees, 360s, ‘follow the tracks’, jump turns, crazy arm positions. Another cold day in Breckenridge – but we had some laughs and lots of turns. You (plural) are a polite and enjoyable family – thank you for letting me share my day and love of skiing with you.

Level 7, Melissa, Al, MaryAnn Kelly – coldest dang day of the year, wind that would just not let go. Body (hip, shoulder, hands) alignment, committing to the turn, staying ‘grounded’ with both skis, slow the initiation and complete the last 15%, inside ski activity and pressure. Thanks for trying the ‘difficult’ drills and accepting changes – must be outside the comfort zone to accept new challenges.

Michael, John, Jason, Alison, David – now here is a diverse gang of family and friends. Bumps (moments of brilliance, moments of other emotions), trees (David, you rock), Alison skiing the ‘zipper line’ and a few bump runs, John and Jason following throught the tight trees (that was impressive), ski the ‘side walls’, completing the last 15% of each turn, leg steering on a PVC pipe, and last but not least … keep both skis on the snow!

‘The Babes’. What a great day! Bump stuff in the morning, chocolate for lunch, cruising black and blue in the afternoon. This is coming together, you (plural) might not see all the changes I do, so take it from me there are impressive revelations that are floating through the minds and ski performance.

Level 3 (kind of) to start the day – level three and more to finish the day. Kyle, Lora, Mandy, Cortney, Jimena – a bit of heart land American and heart land Mexico. It’s not rocket science … but there is a bit of cerebral patience that sure makes life on skis easier and more enjoyable. Good turns!
