Laurel, Olive, Paola, Rebecca, Chong, Dianne, Chris, Mitzi, Jenny – Crazy 8s! Inside half leading the turn, don’t give up in bottom half, leg length differential, early edge engagement, be patient at turn initiation. Rustler at 3:00PM about 6 inches of semi-heavy good snow … non-stop from Rock House to the bottom. Thx for cookies Laurel. Liked the afternoon with just skiing and everyone working in their own space. 

Janice, Louis, Louis, Viridiana – Louisiana and Mexico. Control speed with shape and friction, how to release the inside ski when in a wedge, leg rotation, feet/ski moving together, allow the skis to skid once matched. Don’t party too hardy guys – but do enjoy your time in Breckenridge and on the slopes.

Kristen, Luca -Puerto Rico. Matching at turn finish, more skid and shape/less hard edge, arms not so close to body, be patient with the top of the turn to maintain balance, simultaneous edge change (can’t skid/slide in a wedge). Fun morning … have a good vacation.

Elizabeth – Ross, CA. Good day, lots of follow the leader on blues, keeping both skis ‘grounded’, complete turn to control speed, first day on snow in three years (wish I could ski that well after three years off). Lots of healthy food talk, think I learned more than she did. Stay safe this year, see you next year (or maybe in the spring – think about that one).

Frank, Leanne, Andrew, Arianna, Alexandria – early church was a cross between brutal and morning wake up – cruiser down North Star then right into the bumps on Rounders and T-bar – gotta love it. Lots of miles and just a little technical stuff (pressure along the whole foot, more skid and shape, early edge change, angles in the lower torso, almost too open to the mountain). Hike before lunch with Arianna and Frank – Twin Chutes, some challenging snow (aka, semi breakable powder) and lower Windows a real mess. Big lunch today, $1.50 for two rounds of hot water. Leanne good progress this afternoon with turn shape/completion – take out the ‘flat spot’ and replace it with turn completion. Been a great week guys, best of the year. Happy New Year!
