A good finish to the year, the Latudas, mostly peak 9 and 10 today … maybe our 8th or 9th year together … you guys are a hardy lot to put up with me so long. Concentration now on bumps and arcing, early edge engagement, let the ‘inside half’ lead all the way through the turn, hips support the base of support, very little rotary at transition, pole plant (touch), bump absorption and skidding in the bumps to adjust line, maintain ski/snow pressure with both skis during transition. Happy New Year!

PS. Thx for the whiskey.

Tiffany, Reese, Abigail (and John the dad shadowing)- New Orleans, first time skiers. Magic carpet and Poma … straight wedge glide, wedge change ups, riding the chair lift, wedge turns, letting the inside ski start to match, more tipping of the inside ski to yield a flatter platform, using turn to control speed. Skied down from the Poma to the bottom … a busy morning, good start to becoming skiers – think everyone will sleep good tonight.

Frank, Lea nne, Areanna, Andrew, Alex – bumps, off piste, some powder early, crazy insane with the crowds, 4 o’clock was I70 at rush hour on steroids. Keeping pressure during transition (and throughout the turn), ALWAYS a pole touch (plant sometimes), patience to let the turn complete, lead with the inside hip all the way through the turn (don’t give up the counter during the last 20% of turn), Frank and Andrew starting to be leaders … discipline when setting the example! Was is cold after 3:00PM – that is totally rhetorical. Great day guys, the whole family rapidly now becoming all mountain skiers … this opens up many opportunities. It’s 7:10pm and I’m still chilled, more whiskey maybe. See you Saturday.

Wow, serious cold, serious good skiing, the run down the T-bar fence line this morning was some of the best in two years. That was good, but just as enjoyable – watching Leanne and Alex start to light up with their skiing, intro to bumps, ski shapes starting to show some dynamics (skis are actually bending and working), upper body more stable, ankles flexing … this has been such a work in progress, I will sleep good tonight (well, as long as the $1.09 hot water thought does not come in the mind about 2:30AM). Tomorrow amigos!

PS. Frank almost pulled off the double binding entry.

Lena, Lukas, Barbara, Johannes – Munich. Solid all mountain skiers, what a fun day, what a cold day … made all the peaks on the grand tour … skiing is delightful right now. Best snow probably on Peak 6 off the lift to the left, loads in the bowl. Thx for teaching me a little about drive chains and wine (definitely an interesting combination). Dandy skiing today!

Ken,Ken, Michelle, Jason, Lisa, Christina, Drew – Miami, Level 1 and 3. Interesting day for sure, wedges, sliding wedges, direction change, riding the chair lift, balance, completing the turn, femur rotation, flatter skis, pizza for lunch, mixing business with skiing (Drew, have never seen anyone multi-task so well). Take care, have a great vacation … it was a fun day.
