Neha & Dan – NY, NY. Still working on matching, sliding and shaping, leg steering, tipping to release the inside ski, rhythm, shorter radius turns, arm discipline (so hard to get this across), shin pressure, working part of ski. Dan made it up Centennial and skied Gold Dust (blue run), well done.

Neha & Daniel – NY, NY. Skied 30 years ago, revisit the wedge, almost immediately start the process of getting rid of it, side slips (sequential and simultaneous), tipping the inside ski to aid in matching, match as early as possible, traverses, relax, shin pressure, flexion, wedge turn followed by traverse match. Daughter altitude sickness at noon … pick it up tomorrow.

Ben, Tessa, Torren – Arrowhead. Vail, back bowls, Blue Sky, video with Chris, frozen cutup ‘stuff’ in the morning, Lover’s Leap in Blue Sky, still working on bigger bumps, no breakthrough on poles or upper body twist, revisited how to hold poles, trees are easy, bumps are a booger.

Ross, Rebecca, Levi, Essy, Jessica. Last day skiing together, cold morning, pleasant afternoon, snow good: pole balance, upper body stable, less ‘back and forth’, more ankle/knee flexion, tipping to release the inside ski, lots of black bumps, still working on getting rid of the stiff/brace downhill leg/ski, Levi made 10 black bump runs, way to go!

Ross, Rebecca, Levi, Essy, Jessica – Florida. 8 inches new snow, good stuff, not too wet, fall line bumps, four blacks, more even pressure, keeping skis on the snow, shin pressure (this is a hard one to establish), hands on knees exercise, tipping inside ski, patience (how often have I written that).

Ross, Rebecca, Levi, Essy, Jessica – Delray Beach, Fl. Few greens, lot of blues, one or two blacks, some bumps, Levi and Rebecca starting to like those bumps (a challenge), still working on matching, simultaneous edge change, pressuring skis through belly of turn (resonated with Rebecca), Essy finally coming out of the wedge, Levi just maybe moving up to L5.

Borzkowski family – Del Ray, FL. 3 inches new snow, cold morning, warm afternoon, some powder, some bumps (actually lots of bumps), hip rotation, upper body stability, arms, pole usage, balance with foot pressure/shin pressure, steering both skis together, getting out of the wedge, matching in the traverse, flex/extend in bumps, skidding, patience, think about ‘going’ instead of ‘stopping’ with each turn. Rose Bowl and one black bump run (this was a challenge). AND, two box slides!

Jerry & Clayton – Mt. Dora, FL. More hip rotation to the outside of turn, let the hips drop to the inside of turn, hands lower, pole usage, tip before steering at turn initiation, side slipping on moguls, pivot turns, alignment, foot/shin pressure, flex/extent in moguls, where to turn in moguls.
