Bob, Charmane, Catharine, Terry, Sophie, Paul, Ernie, Elaine … ‘how to complete the turn’, the femurs rotate, the femurs follow the path of the ski, not squaring up, being concise with the pole pant, how to slide, how to slide in the bumps, show to scarve, early edge change in the bumps but it can be ‘soft’ edges to allow skidding and shaping, holding a tighter line. Well done group!

Laurel, Rebecca, Mitzi, Chongie, Olive, Paola – all about scarving today, early edge engagement -yes … but it can be softer to allow the skis to have more of a skidding component. Skidding and carving = scarving – nearly every turn has some of this. More direct line in the bumps, avoid the big valleys – just skid around/down them. Winter blizzard again, hey, it’s Breckenridge. Good job on High A and Peerless – Devil’s Crotch a different animal. Was a great day!

Catharine, Kay, Paula, Debbie, Don, Chris – at last it’s warm (well, relative speaking), what a pleasure not having frozen feet at 3:00pm. Once again main focus on ‘make the early edge change’, h0w to do it, what are the hips and core doing at this edge change, what is the ‘outside of the turn’ vs ‘dowhnill’, early pressure to set up for success during the shaping and finish. Great day guys (generic) and thx for the chocolate.

Brenda, Don, Meow, Elaine – now this was a good day for change, it was all about what rotation can do for edge change when we are flexed at the transition, period! Some groomed, some off piste, some bumps – Brills at 3:00pm was about as good as it gets, no bumps, chalky powder of about one inch. Killer!!

Paul, Terry, Terry, Elaine – not so bitter cold today, lots of sun, not much wind. Completing the turn by staying aligned, not ‘squaring up’, more flexion, edge change ‘then’ shape with rotation, hands on knees for Rounders and Little Johnny – see, you can stay more flexed with early edge change. Lots of chocolate for lunch, we always do that. Change is happening, you might not like me now, but you will like me in the future!

Laurel, Olive, Mitzi, Rebecca, Chongie, Jenny – all about the hips and how it separates from the upper and lower body, what happens when ‘we square up’, how to keep the hip aligned right through the finish of the turn, set up the pole plant, pressure the outside ski, turn shape, arc turns and more ‘riding’ the edge, tipping of the inside ski (the outside ski will follow. This was one cold day… but skiing most good. Lots of chocolate for lunch!! Some Peak 8, 9 and 10. Ladies – definitely seeing some ski performance and body discipline – well done.

Chris, Catharine, Kay – wasn’t really powder, wasn’t really pack, somewhere in between. Not squaring up, keeping a rhythm (even on the steep bumps), early edge engagement, pressure early to shape and control speed, NO shopping (I know, hard not to do) – Imperial Bowl, Rustler, Meadows (that was a good powder run), North Bowl, Debs, Boundary. When you guys were on it was fun to watch – can’t be on every turn and that is to be expected for all of us. Good day!
