Level 7: Donna, Joelle, Barbara, Meow – Good to see you ladies again, let the entertainment begin for the winter. Today’s focus: engaging the ski earlier in the turn, feeling pressure on the feet, upper body alignment, speed control with direction of travel (effected by turns), pole swing and touch. A grand day, all should sleep well tonight.

David the Dr. from Britian and Jasime (this spelling just doesn’t seem right) from Singapore. Level 6/7 – a most fun day. Good sun, not too much wind, not crowded … much progress. David: simultaneous leg rotation, keeping both skis on the snow, upper body discipline. Jasime: completing the turn, arms more forward (elbows in front of spine), a little angulation at waist, javeline turns, one ski turns. Both: pole balance to quieten the upper body. Merry Christmas to all!

Joe, William, Alex. Last day of season for this ski instructor – thank you for helping to finish out in style! Level 9 group. Probably the most challenging skiing of the year – frozen bumps, 100s of them, 1000s of them, all day long. Squeezing out the last 10% of the turn, controlling the hands when balance is difficult, getting the park rat some upper body discipline (sorry Alex, that just slipped out). Video to put pictures with all those words, one ski drills to have fun and push the limits. Good conversation at lunch to help make the last cup of oat meal more palatable. My appreciation
guys (that’s a generic term Jo) for a memorable season’s end.

Annand, Sanjay, Nolan and Seetha – Garnet Valley, PA. For the adventurous kids – stand taller with more movement in the ankles and knees, hands in front to see them, turn skis together with narrower stance (minimize the wedge). For the mother – relax, more flexibility in legs, leg rotation to turn skis, less edge/flatter, skid and shape. A fun day with much progresss.
