Frank, Susan, Joe, Laurel, Rebecca, Peter, Olive, Pat, Mitzi, Chong, Deb, Mark – the L9 wild bunch. No picture today. Goodbye Girl, Mach 1, Field of Dreams, a few trees, some powder to the waist, some cut up. Where does tipping come from …. when do the hips face the outside of the turn …. good discussions. I’m beat, you guys wore me out … a good tired.

No picture, just forgot. Donna, Judy, Marilyn, Dawn, Janet, Pam, Joelle, Becky, Amy, Paola. 6 inches new, powder and chopped up stuff … cold with some wind … what the heck, it’s winter. Lots of bumps on peak 8 and 9. Focus on ‘what is the difference between a Level 7 and a Level 8’ … I like Amy’s answer: ‘a little about a lot of things with consistency’.

DSC01510Chuck, St. Louis, level 5: upper/lower body separation, pole plants, skiing working together, more flex in ankles and knees (especially in second half of turn), turn shape more round, speed control from gravity, hop turns, counter with hip (the rest of upper body will follow), tip to new edges then progressively bring in the leg rotaion, commitment to the new turn with core crossing over the skis. That should be enough meat for about 5 years. Good meeting you Chuck, give Leanne some grief for me (she is so used to and would expect no less).
