Nikita, Connor, Mason – level 7 … 5 inches new snow, tons of bumps, some groomed black, some black bumps, a bit to technique here and there … all 5 mountains by 4:00PM. Diversity in the class with everyone learning from everyone. Hope you guys remember this day .. a good one indeed!

Pavel and Nikita … last day together, kind of sad. Black groomed runs and intro to black bumps, a few drills. All 5 mountains explored during the 3 days … even learned three words in Russian. Thank you for sharing pieces of your lives and teaching me as I have tried to teach you. We are not done, see you next year!

Pavel (AM), Nikita (PM) – what a great day, no wind, sunny, warm (mid 20s), crowds but not so much for ski school – much progress. Both Pavel and Nikita a breakthrough day, starting to get how this whole skidding/shaping thing works … black groomed terrain, a few bumps (with Nikita), taking it more down the fall line, stability with skis not being so much on edge, skis moving together at initiation, shuffle turns, pivot turn, hold a line and not so much ‘back and forth’. Hope the two of you will remember today, a blue bird for sure!

Pavel, Nikita, Inga – skied the new peak 6 terrain, good stuff. Lots of shaping with leg steering, more skid and less edge, hips/shoulders/arms/hands/eyes more countered and down the mountain, begin the turn with the new inside ski, pole touch to initiate the turn and body crossover. I learned more about Russian today than maybe they learned about skiing. 2000 turns, a good day indeed.

Laurel, Joe, Frank, susan, Peter, Chong, Mitzi, Bob and Diane – the Sunday Wild Bunch (eventhough it’s Saturday). Wind scour, breakable crud (this stuff was a real joy), trees, powder, bumps. A few exercises and a boat load of turns with a few ‘food for thought’ items every now and then. This day is what skiing is all about – great fun guys, thank you.
